How we grow on our homestead

Just as nature intended is our philosophy!

We believe in practicing what we preach and we strive to have little to no negative environmental impact.  We have eliminated synthetically produced and mined inputs and are always trying to reduce non-renewable resource .  We are a human powered farm and rely mostly on hand and battery powered implements to get the job done.

Nutrient dense food starts with healthy soil.  

We practice low and no till methods as well as incorporate green manures to ensure that the Microhiza thrive and the fruits of our labour meet their highest potential.

We are passionate about Regenerative Agriculture Practices  and we are guided by 4 basic Principles.

 PROGRESSIVELY IMPROVE WHOLE AGROECOSYSTEMS (SOIL, WATER AND BIODIVERSITY) .

CREATE CONTEXT-SPECIFIC DESIGNS AND MAKE HOLISTIC DECISIONS THAT EXPRESS THE ESSENCE OF OUR FARM.

 ENSURE AND DEVELOP JUST AND RECIPROCAL RELATIONSHIPS AMONGST ALL STAKEHOLDERS. 

CONTINUALLY GROW AND EVOLVE AS INDIVIDUALS, FARMS, AND COMMUNITIES TO EXPRESS OUR INNATE POTENTIAL .

Zero synthetic sprays, not even the organic ones. We believe we can manage our pest with natural inputs and we are committed to using beneficial insects, insect netting and row covers to keep the pests out.  

We believe in a closed system and we are striving to make most of our own fertilizers on the farm.  

We encourage community composting and accept compostables from our neighbors.
